SAFTY: Caring for Kids in CRISIS is a new mobile crisis program
which started in Carpinteria April 10, 2006. SAFTY provides quick and accessible
services to families by providing specialized crisis intervention, in-home
support, and linkage to county alcohol, drug and mental health services.
Dial 211. 211 is the new, easy to remember phone number that
connects people with health and human services throughout Santa Barbara County.
211 is now the best way to access information and referral, crisis intervention
and suicide prevention services. When you call 211, trained staff guide you to
the services that will meet your needs from among more than 1,350 local programs
and agencies. 211 HELPLINE staff is also trained to guide you to the right
regional or national agencies when those programs will best meet your needs.
Calls are FREE, CONFIDENTIAL, AVAILABLE 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK, and
MULTI-LINGUAL. 211 enables everyone to find and access the vital community
services that they need and is especially useful to the most vulnerable people
in our community, including seniors and people with disabilities.
