"Many
communities rise up together in a time of crisis. The Community Collaborative of
Carp Cares for Youth came together under similar circumstances. Youth violence,
alcohol, drugs and teen suicide were the issues that fueled concerned community
activist to come together to identify problems and find common solutions. The
Carp Cares for Youth Collaborative is a classic example of how powerful and
effective a collective of individuals can mobilize a community to work together
for a common cause. In this case it was to introduce prevention, intervention
and treatment initiatives that collectively make this community a safer and
healthier place to live."
